Hey, guys,
ConNooga was this past weekend in Chattanooga (obviously). I wasn't feeling 100%, couldn't make the con on Friday, and had to step out a little early on Saturday. Regardless, it was a pretty decent show...not the best I've done (in terms of sales) but not the worst (by far). It does seem like there is an abundance of anime, "browncoats", and steampunks at this con, but hey, to each his own. There were still plenty of comic and horror fans with whom to mingle, and I thank all of them that gave one of my books a shot!
I was fortunate enough to be seated next to CZKWorld Studios' Michael and Kevin. They were super nice, very cool guys, and it's always good to have someone like that next to you at a con. I picked up their debut book, "Corey, The Zombie Killer: Amity Eroded", at the show and it appears that this series is going to bring about an interesting take on the zombie mythos. Check out the stuff these guys are putting out.
An attendee who snagged a copy of "Bee Sting" was Joseph Love. Mr. Love has a zombie novella on Kickstarter, entitled "Kill Town, USA". Seems like a pretty cool concept and he was gracious enough to share some love for "Bee Sting" on his website! Click on the link here to read his mini-review and get the info on his project.
All in all, a decent show and I'm looking forward to next year.
But this weekend...MystiCon in Roanoke, VA.
Til next time,
Matthew
